E-liquid is the liquid that is used for vaping. These come in many different flavors, nicotine levels, compositions and in addition they are available without nicotine.
The nicotine content of an e-liquid
An e-liquid has different types of nicotine levels. From nicotine-free variants, up to 3mg, 12mg and 18mg. Which nicotine level you can take best depends in part on your smoking habits and your e-cigarette. You can therefore use the following list as a guide:
- Light cigarettes: Then it’s best to choose 3 mg to 6 mg nicotine.
- Normal cigarettes: Then it’s best to opt for 12 mg of nicotine.
- Shag: Then it’s best to opt for 18 mg of nicotine.
It is of course also possible to use nicotine-free e-liquids. With every e-liquid, you can in any case choose the desired nicotine content yourself.

Composition of an e-liquid
An e-liquid has a certain composition. An e-liquid consists of the resources PG and VG. The substance PG stands for Propylene Glycol and mainly causes the throat hit (tickle in your throat) and is, next to nicotine, the strongest flavor carrier. The substance VG stands for Vegetable Glycerin and mainly ensures the amount of vapor.
Which composition should I get?
Good to know is that the VG substance is a bit more viscous in structure and PG is a lot thinner. As a result, not every e-liquid with a specific composition is suitable for a specific e-cigarette.
You can use as a guideline that if your e-cigarette uses coils with an Ohm value below 1.0 Ohm, you can best go for a little more VG. Does your e-cigarette use coils with an Ohm value above 1.0 Ohm? Then you can go for more PG.
In addition, it is of course also important what your wishes are. Do you want a lot of vapor? Then you can go for a lot of VG. Do you not want that much vapor, but just the tickle in your throat? Then you go for a lot of PG. You can of course also go for the middle ground and opt for 50% VG and 50% PG.
